Enjoying Nature on the Net
Tuesday, September 10, 2019, 7:00 pm @ Great Lakes Forestry Centre, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
Enjoying Nature on the Net - David Euler / Carter Dorscht / Mark Olivier - Species are under assault from many threats, including habitat destruction, invasive species, overexploitation, pollution, disease and parasites, and climate change. Extinctions are happening at 1,000 times the natural rate. Monitoring is the essential first step. Citizen science makes a big (and growing) contribution to knowledge about Ontario’s biodiversity. Development of mobile apps have contributed to a big increase in data collection – iNaturalist. The group will talk about enjoying nature on the net while making valuable contributions to science.
