This page has information about recent additions to the wiki.

 

The wiki is constantly evolving, so there may be new things to see each time you visit it. Be sure to read the fifth paragraph on the Front Page to see how you can contribute to this web site.

 

Anyone with an interest in geology should check out Gerry Bennett's Page, which includes "A Rock-Chart for the Rocks of the Elliot Lake Area and the Southeast Lake Superior Region" along with a geological map of the southeast shore of Lake Superior, and Gerry's Page 2, which includes "Self Guided Tours of some Highways and Byways In Algoma."  (Nov. 25, 2009)

The Michigan Audubon Society has scheduled two birding field trips in the Sault Ste. Marie area. See the Announcements for information.

A new Information folder has been created to include information that may be of value to members. You can access it from the Navigator box on your right. It currently contains articles taken from the Announcements on the Bird Feeder Watch and Piping Plover Watch. (Oct. 10, 2009)

There is a new page on the wiki with reports of Previous Bird Sightings (before 2009). Reports  of recent sightings should still be made on Report Bird Sightings.  (April 11, 2009)

 

Now there is a new way to find the page you want on the wiki. Besides clicking on a link in the Sidebar, you can click on a folder in the Navigator box on your right. For example, if you want to read the club's outing guidelines, just click on the "Outings" folder and then on "Outing Guidelines" to go directly to the page with that information. Pages not in the folders are listed under "Unfiled Items." (April 7, 2009)

 There is a new photo set, Sault Naturalists Activities, on our Flickr photo site. It will include club activities at meetings, workshops, and other non-outdoors events. Check out the picture of the club's display board, which was displayed at the 2009 Annual Meeting and includes some of Linda Young's outstanding photos. (Feb. 12, 2009)

 

See a documentary film about Kennecott's plan to construct a sulfide mine in the environmentally sensitive Yellow Dog Plains on the Environmental News page. Thanks to Graham Hussey, the Sault Naturalists now has a new logo! Like the old one, it features a robin (the state bird of Michigan) and a trillium (the provincial flower of Ontario). See it on the FrontPage. (Jan 12, 2009)

Two new pages on the Environment were added on August 12, 2008. The Environmental News page will include news reports on environmental issues that were previously on the Announcements page. The Reports on Environmental Issues page is intended to include original articles and comments on environmental issues submitted by members or other appropriate individuals. Roger Blanchard of the Sierra Club's Three Lakes Group has contributed two thought-provoking articles.  Both pages can be accessed by clicking on Environment in any page's sidebar.
